Just one of those wonderful days........

As some people will know I got my first year University Exam results today and they are so bitter sweat. I did far better than I had expected (over 70% average), which given that I have had the delight of waiting for my operation, 8 weeks of viral/fungal infections, decimating skin rash and at least one visit to A&E, I am incredibly happy with. But at the same time shot myself in the foot by failing a compulsory unit. My uni does not allow progression with out a pass- so I have been given a uncapped resit. However the resit is about 10 days after my planned discharge after an open pulmonary valve replacement. Do not sit the resit and I have to wait a year to do it with the next cohort- which I now fully expect to end up doing. So have spent best part of this afternoon grovelling to my landlord asking for a release on next years contract. Hands up if you ever have those days?

Huge congrats on getting over 70% on your exams! That is fantastic! You shoukd be incredinky proud of yourself.

I'm sorry you missed a pass on the compulsory one. I did the same in my first year but was fortunate not to have surgery just before theresit...have you spoken to your University? Either your school or student services? Or your personal tutor or mentor if you have one? I'm just wondering if there is any way there can be provision made for you under the circumstances (including the added stress of sitting them under the stress of pending big Surgery?).

Definitely know those days. Hugs x

Yes very well done to you & you should be very proud of yourself. It is great you have a positive to focus on.

Yes I think there may be allowances for these rare situations.

If you talk to the university councillors, they will be able to advice you on your next steps under these cercomtances.

Again, congadulation, well done you :)))))
