You need to make peace with your past in order to move forward. If they do not support you then don't worry, there's so much support here. Get yourself to the Weight Loss NHS forum everyone here will help you. Go to the nhs weight loss website where you will find the 12 week plan and the bmi checker which tells you how many calories you need. I find the addition of a calorie countingapp (myfitnesspal) really helps. You need to make peace with the past; you can't move forward if you're always looking back. Forgive yourself and love your body (even if you want to change it) it's the only one you'll ever have. You need to remember that ultimately there is one person who is responsible for your happiness and health; you! You are beautiful and you deserve a healthy life x x x good luck

I can see that the way your parents treated you was heartbreaking and cruel. But you need to take responsibility for yourself. Blaming them doesn't get you where you want to be. You need to take charge of your own life and be responsible for your problems because you're the only person who can help you. We can support you, just as any friends and family can. But in the end it's you who will control what happens in your life.

Have you thought about joining the weight loss group here online? How about getting some counseling? Both would be tremendous help. You would have support from both...very good support! Just what you need.

I've had great success with weight loss surgery but if you're young you may not want to do that just yet. It changes how you eat forever. It's best that you try diet and exercise first. Mainly diet changes are what will allow you to lose weight. The exercise helps, but it's the way you change your eating habits that is the main way you lose weight. Good luck to you and I hope you have great success.

hi Kerri and welcome to the best place you could be. I love this place and it always makes me feel better. my dad used to call me "fluffy" and I thought he was making fun but he was just using it as a term of endearment. I don't know it that is the case in your house, but no matter what anyone else thinks of you, you must love yourself to do anything at all. I have always heard that but never knew how to do it. once I learned that I am a funny, giving, kind wonderful person, I decided to be healthy. I am not perfect, I have eaten a lot of sugar today lol but I know that I am still that funny woman I was yesterday when I did not eat sugar. just remember that you have your best qualities no one can take away from you no matter what. I know you can do this if you want to and we will be here to help you if you want it. their opinions of you are not nearly as important as your own opinion of yourself. write down what is good about you that you like, and pin it to the mirror. read it to yourself everyday until you start believing it. I promise that will help and you can do this!!! chin up, I like you a lot as you sound just like me!
