Reducing dosage Humira

Hi! I have been on Humira since 2012 for Bd/uveitis. It was initially a roller coaster ride, but eventually, oh very slowly, saw some improvement.

I had my regular ophta exam yesterday. The optha suggested that I reduce HUMIRA dosage - from every 14 days to every 21 days.

I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who has had an experience with reducing HUMIRA.

Thanks !

Ho magician

I have no experience with the drug but from the following article from the British medical journal might be helpful in reducing Adalimumab, sold under the brand name Humira:

Thank you very much, gillianTS!

FDA approved the use of Humira for uveitis only in late 2018. I guess that explains the lack of wisdom regarding dosage titration - for that reason, I am a bit anxious, though gradual reduction did seem to go quite well for RA.

It seems a long time to be on it? In my personal experience it would probably have very slowly improved even if you had not taken it.

I normally try to do with less meds. But with possible blindness (both eyes are involved; one eye was almost blind in 2007) on the table, I just continued the treatment.

Did you have uveitis too? How severe? What treatment worked for you?
