Is hair loss common in this disease? Or is it my Hashimoto's acting up again? It's bad enough I feel like hell. do i have to be bald too?

I have lost a lot of hair this year. Particularly round the hairline. Every time I wash my hair loads comes out in the shower and also when I dry it. It seems to be slowing down though and growing back. Phew! My rheumatologist even recommended a hair loss product!!

I had it happen when I was on imuran...I was on it for about 5 or 6 months. The drain catch would be full everytime I washed my hair(I tried only washing every 3 to 4 days and this didn't help). I was using those hairloss products too and panicking. My md explained it may be the meds but could also be a symptom of being very ill, and once you are better the hair will grow back. I started on a diff med in june and noticed the hairloss getting less and less and now finally it is better Luckily I have lots of hair and it was only noticeable to me and my hairdresser. The loss was in patches to the back of my head.
