Combined pill weight gain?

I’m 17 about to go onto the combined pill due to my PCOS, as one of my symptoms that’s comes with PCOS is weight gain, my question is is that does the combined pill make you gain weight as well?

In PCO you have to take metformin also and because of metformin you will lose weight

There is no fixed treatment schedule for PCOS , some women take the combined pill, some metformin, some both. The consensus is that the pill is not guaranteed to cause weight gain : "A 2017 systematic review reported that 10 of the 14 studies of COC identified did not

report a difference in COC effectiveness by body weight or BMI"

From GP Notebook : In the general population there is no evidence that use of CHC causes weight gain.

PCOS can definitely cause weight gain, so you may find being on the pill actually helps.
