Hello! I was wondering anyone knows if it is safe to change the starting day of the 7 day break on the combined pill. I last pill is taken on a Wednesday but I'm wanting to change this to a Friday so that my period doesn't arrive until the Sunday. I was thinking that I could start my new pack earlier on the Saturday of my current 7 day break. Has anyone done this before?

you don't need a full 7 day break. So if you wish to start your next pack a few days early to move the pill free interval , that's fine. In fact you don't need any breaks at all for 3 months if you wish to run 3 packs together.
New guidance is that it is safe to take the pill continuously to avoid the breakthrough bleeding. You can do this by omitting the break altogether and running the pills continuously. This can be done until you get a couple of days of breakthrough bleeding then stop this pill for 4 days and restart on day 5.
It is also safe to take 3 packs then have a 4 day break (this is called tricycling). Or to take the pills as usual but shorten the break to 4 days rather than 7.
These ways of taking the combined pill are thought to be safer from a pregnancy point of view because you have a shorter window of time without hormones and therefore even less chance of releasing an egg.
