2 month Old getting restless

My 2 month old son is getting increasingly restless as of late. He has begun to dribble excessively and sticking his hands in his mouth. I've been told he could be early teething however I'm not seeing any signs. He's also started to become fussy with his feedings and today he was refusing to feed and only wanted to sleep. His gums are a pink colour. No redness where teeth should be. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on with my baby as he's my first and I'm not too sure what I'm doing.

It could be honestly anything, maybe with the drop in temp he is feeling cooler? Could be a wee growth spurt. The Ashon powders are great for their gums and are herbal so don't do any harm. Just remember everything is just?a?phase and i am sure it will pass soon!

my little one started teething at just over 2 months. I didn’t know baby could start teething at that age. She’s now 4 months and still dribbling, and hand is firmly in her mouth most of the day. I’ve tried teething rings and soothers but nothing seems to replace her hand. I was told by my HV to avoid gels etc as most contain sugars which could damage teeth before they are even in. I should add that we still have no teeth through as yet but think that’s normal xxx if your wee one refuses feeds for another day call your health visitor for advice. I found them to be really supportive xx

hi

I agree it’s a bit too early for teething but it could be absolutely anything. As long as their weight gain is stable and they are well in themselves most of the time, I wouldn’t worry too much. They go through all sorts of phases but if your instincts are saying something is wrong, do speak to your HV and your GP.

Sticking their hand in their mouth is very very common in newborns as a sign of hunger and they are constantly hungry! But if he’s then not wanting to feed I would be more worried about reacting to something in his milk. If you are breastfeeding it might be something you are eating and if he is on formula then it might be a cows milk sensitivity.
