Has anyone else’s LO got a peanut allergy? Florence had skin prick test on Thursday after having to start all over again because of Covid! She came up allergic to peanut, sesame seed, walnut, eggs and chives. Because only one parent could go it was just me and they threw so much info at me it was hard to take in along with training me to use an epipen.
Has anyone got any advice or know reliable sources to read up about this sort of thing. Feeling a bit emotional about it all and worried about her getting fed it by accident 😫 xx
My sister is law has a very severe peanut allergy and we always need to be very careful and rarely eat out with her because other people don’t take it as seriously as they should.
The good news is that she is able to eat lots at home and we all just double check every product before we use it with her. It is limiting as lots of foods that clearly don’t contain nuts put warnings on their products stating might have been made in a factory that has nut traces. Frustrating on a margarita pizza😐.
There are lots of support groups on Facebook so hopefully you can find some other parents on there xx
Thank you for your reply. Definitely understand what you mean about people not taking it seriously. My family don’t seem to take it seriously as they came back with “well she’s eaten peanuts before”. She never has only stuff that says may contain nuts as we didn’t know to avoid 🤦🏻♀️. Xx
