Hi everyone

Is this normal? I keep reading that I should feel the baby move by now. I've felt a few flutters a while back. Mainly felt when I wake up in the morning. But recently I've felt nothing. Thinking of having another reassurance scan? I had my 20 week scan last week they said everything was fine but baby was laying in a position that didn't allow for the best view of the heart. She made me do star jumps and walk around for a bit and baby still didn't move out of position. Wondering if this means there is a problem. She told me what she saw of the heart looks fine and that it wasnt a problem that baby didn't move. She said baby was just comfortable. But I'm starting to worry. Anyway remember what week they felt their baby move. I have a posterior placenta so I know it's not that which is stopping feel movement.

I didn’t feel movement until 22 weeks and even then it wasn’t always obvious and definitely not regular. Wasn’t until about 28 weeks that it was more noticeable and I was able to notice a routine. Like you my baby was awkward at the 20 week scan and had to do a lot of jumping etc but all was fine x

I had a scan where the baby's position meant she couldn't see all of the bits of the heart to tick off all the boxes but, like your sonographer said to you, everything else looked fine. She's 10 months now and won't stop still, so she's great!!

I saw my baby on quite a few scans and sometimes she was a little wriggler twisting and turning and others she was quiet. I know it's hard to stay calm and not worry, so I hope you can start to feel movements soon and that will help reassure you - halfway there now!! xxx

This is a question best left for the doctor. When you say you're not feeling your baby you are asking us, people likely without medical degrees, if your child is alive and healthy. I highly recommend you talk with your doctor. Anxiety at any stage of pregnancy is completely normal, especially for first time mums and after previous loss.

Have I personally ever had times of not feeling my baby move around? Yes, and I directed my concerns to the doctor. Having excess fluid can reduce the ability to feel the baby's movements despite there being plenty of movement. If you are greatly concerned seek out a medical professional. Also, I would highly recommend you consider reading up on how to abate anxiety. Our hormones only make it worse right now but there are things that can be done to help reduce our anxiety.

Praying peace over you right now. Enjoy your pregnancy!

I didn’t feel mine move until around 24 weeks and it’s only now at 27 weeks that I’m feeling regular movement. I’ve been told that’s perfectly normal and everyone is different and feels things at different times but if you are really worried about it then do speak to your midwife or doctor x
