Hi been having irregular periods, I had my implant took out last month and have been trying for a child with my partner ever since, for the last 2 weeks I have been feeling nauseous, tired, peeing a lot more then usual, have no appetite and lightheaded I have done a pregnancy test and it came back negative have seen my gp and he isn’t sure whether I am or not, I truelly believe I am but with my implant being taken out not so long ago I have been told that can affect the test, has anybody else had these sort of symptoms and if so how did you go about finding out if you were or not?

Am I pregnant?
Since you only have had your implant removed last month there could be a possibility that all of it is simply the withdrawal symptoms. Sadly, all these are progesterone induces which is why the pregnancy symptoms are not much different from that of PMS or onset effects of pills or withdrawal symptoms. If the pregnancy test says negative and the Dr also doesn't seems to have a positive perspective.... there's very less chance that you're actually pregnant. No, removing the implant can't affect pregnancy test as such to give you false negatives. Even false positive is a rare chance because pregnancy tests detect HCG level and HCG isn't a component of any implants. In fact, HCG so far is not available in any form for external administration, it's produced in the body in high level only when you're pregnant. Go for a blood test if you need clarity into the matter, don't be overoptimistic though... the results are hardly different from the HPTs. Other than on rare occasions when HCG metabolises and do not get detected on HPTs. But then self-satisfaction is very much needed to move on and go on with the TTC. Wish you luck!
