SPD and bathtime

My 5 year old is super sensitive to certain sounds, textures, pain, etc. He absolutely hates taking baths, specifically washing his hair. He says it hurts his hair and no matter what we get soap in his eyes. He likes baths otherwise, just not washing his hair. I've tried different shampoos (including eye-safe ones), baby hair rinsing cups, letting him wash it himself, even wearing goggles, but nothing helps. It's screaming fits every night at bathtime and I feel so guilty about it. Any other ideas?

Try a no shampoo method? If his hair is short then just washing it with plain water should be fine; if it stays super greasy after a few weeks transition, there are now a lot of gentle no-shampoo products out there to try to tame the grease a bit.

Also hair doesn't need washing every day - I have long thick hair and wash it once a week. Again, it'll take some time for it to get used to it so don't panic immediately if it looks gross the first couple of weeks.
