Need assistance with a problem

I have started struggling even more with work and my life. Anxiety and depression affecting my wellbeing. I struggle to function properly for example my supervisor tells me to do something I’m always unsure or I struggle to do basic things that a normal person would find comfortable to do and easy. With me it’s different I struggle consistently I fail to need deadlines for when work tells me to do something. I lack a lot of common sense, in school I have learning difficulties that college did not take into account as now I’m employed but on the verge of leaving when I have my meeting that’s taking place very soon. I feel I might be autistic to the point that I’ll struggle to be independent in my life. Anxiety is killing me and ruining me. I have a telephone appointment on trying to diagnose me with autism but even that probably won’t do anything because I’ll struggle to find many easy jobs for someone that struggles with mental health I really don’t know what to do anymore.

Heya, I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, it sounds pretty rough. Take a deep breath.

It's hard to keep up with work and every day life when you feel you have to meet the standard of (supposedly) normal people. (though what is normal anyway? :) )

It sounds like you're working super hard, and with anxiety and depression on top, you're really brave to be doing that. It's not easy at all, and i can totally understand why you feel its ruining you.

If you feel able to, perhaps it would be worth telling your supervisor, or someone you trust at work, that you're struggling right now. As their employee, they should be there to support you. Your mental health should be a priority.

It's easy to be hard on yourself when things feel like they're caving in on you, but you mustn't beat yourself up because you're struggling. You mentioned you lack common sense, which seems quite harsh. You have the common sense to reach out for help on this website and you're looking in to getting a diagnosis. I'd say those are really good things.

It can be a bit of hard work, but if you're able to go through with getting a diagnosis, it can actually help you out. Perhaps you could ask the person who's helping you get diagnosed about some support for what you're going through; explain what you're finding really difficult at the moment. Depending on where you are (e.g i'm in the UK) your workplace ought to accommodate an employee who is on the spectrum.

I hope you feel better soon, take it easy :)

Cheers buddy I’m in the uk as well. Really appreciate what you said. I’m hoping that I’ll get the diagnosis and it can help me for the future.
