I have just been asked to make an appointment at the n-oncology department at the Queen Square hospital this has come out of the blue. How is this connected to my CA?

Hi Wendygirl

I have absolutely no idea. Who asked you to do that?

I have no idea the letter arrived in the post yesterday. I am having genetic testing at the moment they are testing for rare types so not sure if they have found something & need further test or its a normal procedure or it could be a mistake. There is no doctors name on the letter.

I guess I will have to wait and see. Thank you for your response.

Could it be to have blood taken, Oncology departments and hematology departments are usually in the same place, it is in my son's hospital.

iindadoc is right sometimes hospital departments are the same people with a different hat on I recently had dr cazder move an appointment for ataxia and the new one was at his migraine clinic according to the letter

Maybe they want to diagnose by elimination.Sometimes Ataxia can be linked with cancer but that is very rare.

I was asked about a Mamogram test. It is probably a red herring but the neuros will want to eliminate things.

Mybe an error was made. Fact is, I have no idea why you were sent to an oncology department (I live in another country) but I was repeatedly told by neurologists that ataxia often masks or predates cancer. I was tested for cancer which I do not have. It is routine here when CA is diagnosed. There are also blood tests for this. Neta
