mini strokes

Hi I haven’t posted for a while but I need to let off steam. I had an mri 8.8.23 and didn’t get any results back until I wrote and asked for them in Jan 24. I was told it was normal. Yesterday my new doctor had asked to see me and told me that there were areas of damage in the cerebellum which were probably causing the Ataxia symptoms. I also have a few white patches in other areas of my brain and this I dictates I have been having mini strokes. I was so happy to get a diagnosis I didn’t get angry til later. I don’t think the first neurologist even looked at the scan! Positive side, at least now I know. Thanks for listening.

It’s really frustrating not only having a brain condition that changes your life in a big way but we get mucked around by the medical world 🤪

Stay strong my friend and take care.

That needs a complaint in my book, did you go back to the doctor who told you all was normal? Especially as you had to write asked ng for results. Hope you’re under care of a the new doctor now. Be vigilant & proactive moving forward. xx

Hi, thanks for your reply. I hope all is well with you. Yes, I felt I needed to make a complaint. I haven't seen that particular doctor since but have, in my opinion, a much better one. I have requested a copy of the scan and written a letter with information and facts to the complaints department of the hospital so we will see what happens. Take care.
