I had one many years ago before my idiopathic SCA diagnosis.

It was one of the worst procedures I’ve ever experienced. Couldn’t stand for almost two weeks without having excruciating headaches.

Who knows why I had such a reaction. I’m sure the procedure is more advanced today, and of course we all need to remember that we’re unique individuals.

Hi. UCLH wanted me to have lumber puncture and I refused partly because I used to have migraines for 20 years and partly because for me a lumber puncture would have ruled causes out rather than a diagnosis. You are doing the right thing researching rather than taking a neurologists word for it.

Not what you're looking for?
