🙂 Bear in mind, gluten must be eaten as normal for several weeks prior to testing to avoid the possibility of a false negative.
Gluten intolerance (Coeliac disease) can be tested for via a blood test.
Are you in the UK? If so ask for a referral to Sheffield Ataxia Centre.
Hiya Riverway, am I understanding that you haven't been diagnosed properly with Ataxia? You must get an MRI done. A blood test and gastroscopy will confirm Coeliac Disease but you you do not need to be Coeliac to have Gluten Ataxia, gluten can attack the brain only, And this is known as Non Coeliac GlutenSensitivity. There is a relatively new blood test that will detect any gluten sensitivity but as Wobblybee said, you do need to eat a normal gluten diet prior to the test.
Are you seeing a specialist ataxia consultant? They will arrange the tests for you.
Hope this helps. I wish you well
