Has anybody been prescribed muscle relaxing medication and did it work? My right leg is as stiff as a board and has been for weeks ☹️.

Hey Paul,

Yes, I've recently been prescribed a muscle relaxant called Baclofen. I was prescribed it after my first appointment at the Ataxia Centre at NHNN, as the neurologist identified spasticity in my legs.

It's worked pretty well for me. They've started me on a low dose with a view to increasing it so long as I don't have any side effects. So far so good. It might be worth asking about it at your next neurology appointment.

Baclofen also works for me. Started at a low dose and now 20mg 4x a day works well for me

I take magnesium and baclofen. The magnesium I buy myself and the baclofen is prescribed by my doctor.

Mahnesium helps me too. A few years ago, a doctor told me about using Botox injections as a muscle relaxant but I don't know anymore details.

Hi PaulMy neurologist prescribed me Baclofen, 20mg per day. It's quite a low dose but even when I upped it to 30, it made my legs very wobbly.

But it definitely works for me.

I have Botox into my neck every 10 weeks to relax the muscles as I have a tremor with my head. Unfortunately I have also started to get a tremor in my left hand too. It might be worth talking to your Consultant regarding this. They do help, however they are quite painful for me and last about 8-9 weeks on average.
