I have DPayments and my hours about to be cut again. My condition is getting worse not better. The rules of what you can do and can't appear to be very different according to who you talk to or what you read online.
Does anyone actually know what you can use them for as I've been told all the no's many times and as I am not in need of personal care they think I need very little help to do any thing, yet I am confined to a wheelchair, can't write and have many other difficulties that prevent me doing other things. What should I do it's very annoying? Any Ideas?

Maybe you are on the wrong benefit, see if you can get PiP. Ring and speak to them and ask for a form. Then ask for letters from your doctor’s and specialist, to include information for them when filling out the form. Hope you can get help, all the best.Suzie
I am too old for these payments and just get higher rate attendance allowance.. however I do know that, if you apply through a professional, who can guide you through by asking the right questions 😉 it will be to your advantage. Maybe the new advocate onataxia UK helpline can recommend the best for you. Good luck 👍
I have a very different problem to you with my Direct Payments - I've got the hours I need but cannot attract the staff. I wondered where you advertise? Anyway I really hope that you've been able to stop cuts to your hours. Each council is different I think.
hello,It depends on what type of help you need. I don't need personal care.
I juust found someone who was self employed on my local coop board but things have changed and you can advertise on the PA website to get a personal assistant. I don't know if all councils do it but somebody in your local council should know I hope this helps you a bit. Maybe your social worker can help you get what you need!
