I’m after some advice please on walking aids, in particular a frame/rollator that type.
I’m getting to a stage that a walking stick is not enough as I need to hang on to someone as well as use the stick.
I live in Northumberland at a top of a hill which has magnificent views but not too brilliant for me with ataxia and dystonia.
As I have a lot of hills to walk up and down I’m wondering what the best one to get is, although I was diagnosed in September 2019 with SCA 6 I’ve still not received any physio otherwise would have asked them.
I’m just thinking along the lines of walking and balance in particular walking up and down hills.
Hope this makes sense.
Many thanks in advice.

I have a rollator myself, it was perfect for my stage of ataxia initially, but now I feel I’d be safer with something sturdier. Although this particular type is great for use in stores etc where the floor is smooth.
For tramping up and down hills you might like to consider ...🙈 my mind is blank, I’ll get back to you 😉
🙂 You might like to consider Trionic...trionic.uk ( there are some suppliers here in the UK). They are expensive, but you get what you pay for..

Hi Paul, I have a Trionic (among 3 others). It was the first one I bought and perfect for fough walking through woods etc. It all comes apart and will fit inside the boot of my little Nissan Note. It is too heavy for me to do but I have been to places wth my sisters and they can manage. I also have a 'Lets' Go Out' and a slighty heavier version of that. Nowadays I use my Trionic in the garden. It has been one of my best buys.
