😯 At the film’s core are stories shared by patients and family members who have benefited from neuro-acupuncture: a multiple sclerosis patient who regained his vision and his balance; a spinal cord injury patient given a one percent chance of walking again celebrating his ability to use a walker; a mother’s reaction to hearing her child with spinocerebellar ataxia and autism speak for the first time; a veteran diagnosed with traumatic brain injury and PTSD who has been freed from night terrors and pain.

I tried this many years ago for PMS.. I wasn’t a fan of needles..

This is very interesting as I didn’t even know such a thing as Neuro-Acupuncture existed.

I will defiantly look into this as I have several brain problems which this may be able to help such as SCA 6, dystonia and PTST which can send me from a confident out going person to a gibbering wreck thinking that everybody is going to kill me.

I also have an appointment with my Neurologist in a few weeks so will ask him if he has knowledge/opinion on this.

Many thanks for the info.

You take care.

The placebo effect is real thing. Unfortunately, I tried this a few years ago for my SCA 3 and the therapist determined it wasn't doing anything for me. Probably because I didn't really believe it would work. Beware of snake oil salesman of any kind. Until there's is some kind of solution that can be determined to help a lot of us, this will always be the a result of the power of the mind. Bless those that were believers and found some relief for their affliction. :)

Who is the snake oil salesman you refer to?

Anyone selling a solution that is not in a controlled arena, based on tested science. Some random findings only proves my point about the placebo effect. It's a real thing and it never hurts to do a trial and error yourself. But as a solution for the general Ataxic public, it's snake-oil. As someone who actually tried it, I felt that it worked at first, but then nothing. I am thankful that the acupuncturist pointed it out that it wasn't working for me and to not continue to throw money at it. She was definitely not a snake-oil salesman/woman. :)

I've never tried acupuncture but I know people who did. One said it helped her for back pain, but the other with fibro starting throwing up after it was done. I wanted to try it to see if it would help, but I'm chicken.
