My wife & I have been talking about ‘Tumeric’ tablets and their benefit. Has anyone on here had any experience?

Hi Vert

I have been taking turmeric for about a year for its anti-inflammatory properties. I have chronic pain in my right hip. I am not sure whether it is placebo or not but I think it helps. Certainly I have not had any adverse effects so will keep on taking it.

Best wishes

Harriet

🤔 Several year’s ago, I took part in a BBC programme to test Turmeric as a potential therapy.

Some people were given a placebo, some Turmeric in capsule form and some Turmeric powder to cook with. Unfortunately I was given the powder, and I didn’t like the taste🥴

At the end of the experiment, it was concluded that cooking with Turmeric gave the best results pain wise.

But, having read HarryB’s reply, I will consider trying it again.

At the time, I wasn’t suffering pain with my ataxia, I’d taken part to find out potential benefits.

For powder take it with pinch of black pepper to have better bio-availability.

I am drinking a cup tea before breakfast and already noticing re-leaf in pain.

I had chronic lower back nerve pain which is swayed. Of course with other combination of other regime.

🤔 I recall somebody mentioning black pepper, and lemon juice.

I think the lemon juice is for taste but black pepper is for bio-availability for sure.
