Sulforaphane. Now in supplement form. Best sup yet to cure SCA?

I recently stopped taking Chinese Skullcap and have replaced that supplement with BroccoMax by Jarrow. This supplement is being heavily studied by scientists as a general anti-aging supplement and clinically as an anti-cancer agent. Human studies show that it does in fact reach the brain, and researchers at Johns Hopkins University list it as the single most important supplement that they recommend for general anti-aging. I had previously seen the famous YouTube video explaining the benefits of naturally occurring Sulforaphane found in great abundance in Broccoli Seed Sprouts, but didn't realize it was available in supplement form until earlier this month. Now after hours of research I feel I can point to the high lights.

1) Sulforaphane has many fantastic benefits, but for patients with ataxia the important role is as an enhancer of NrF2 which is an important protein essential to the cellular repair process.

2) The bioavailability in humans has now been extensively studied and the short answer is the absolute best method to take Sulforaphane is to grow your own Broccoli Sprouts and eat about 100g per day, BUT that is almost impossible for most of us so . . .

3) There are now some supplements available that have human clinical studies testing their bioavailability and purity, BUT there is one new supplement that comes from Germany and has not yet been clinically tested, but is MUCH cheaper than other forms and research from the producer indicates it has the highest bioavailability yet (except for the expensive version found in France.)

So, long story long I'm now taking 1 pill morning and night of Jarrow's BroccoMax.

Cheers,

Joe in NY

Everyday I am more and more amazed at how I feel. The leg heaviness and tiny sense of instability I had are completely gone. As I said in one of my other recent posts I wish more people would try my complete supplement list.

I should note that I added back once a day EGCG. I stopped it a while back because of concerns about damage to the liver, but further reading has made me highly skeptical of that danger so I figure one pill per day of : amazon.com/Pure-Encapsulati...

Hi Joe,

Its impressive and wish you good health for long!

I am studying and trying to use your regimen list.

Already started exercise regime and having some positive outcome.

I am hoping that adding supplements would give better results. I am wondering if you could advise some focused supplements to start with, would be much helpful.

I know that you've mentioned earlier that you are not sure which supplement is working for you so you are taking all at once but I would like to add only some to study the results.

Secondly, please help me to find the source i should order online as amazon does not ship to my country.

I did send you an email as well, kindly revert on the same.

Thanks, enjoy the healthy life!

Thank you for all your advice but I'm not sure how you think the avergae person can afford to take this many supplements everyday. I'm not struggling for money but I have to pick and choose what I can buy. Some poeple don't have easy access to everything. Some people can;t afford a threadmill or have space/time to do everything on your list. Everyone is doing their best.
