Oh my darling my mum had skin cancer and after treatment she went on to live for another 40 years, she was in her late 40's at the time and was fully cured, please don't be scared as that will just make it worse for both of you, It is meant to be one of the easiest cancers to cure and I am sure there are more people better qualified that me that can help you. xx
Bev my lovely, I am here for you, I know I am physically disabled but I can keep you company, comfort you, or whatever you want.... my mum had skin cancer but died aged 91.
Ann and I send our love and a big HUG!
Don 😕😘 Xx
Read up about it- it is quite common, I had a huge mole removed-( I did have it checked but that is another story) from on my head, it was fine, they remove what they need to and do a biopsy, making sure it is all removed. As long as it isn't left, it is very treatable.
My hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The treatment he has received is faultless (unlike mine). He will be in good hands and you will realise you need not worry my lovely. They can do so much these days.
😏 I’ve had treatment for Bowen's disease. Bowen's disease is a very early form of skin cancer that's easily treatable. The main sign is a red, scaly patch on the skin. It affects the squamous cells, which are in the outermost layer of skin, and is sometimes referred to as squamous cell carcinoma in situ.
Great advice DeniseLB. Agreed!
Try not to worry, bevvick1964. I had a very large basal cell carcinoma removed many years ago and it never recurred. Skin cancers are seldom problematic. But even systemic cancers can be prevented and sometimes cured by removing all forms of sugar from the diet. That means anything and everything that contains added sugar. No cakes, sweets and jams etc.; no chemicals, preservatives or any other additives. No packaged food at all. You're both in my prayers.
I had a melanoma in situ mole removed 6 yrs ago. All checkups since then OK. I too was very frightened at first, but I stumbled upon TTAC= The Truth About Cancer.com by Ty and Charlene Bolinger. After watching their documentaries of people around the world who have successfully survived and thrived by using alternative treatments, ( other than chemo, radiation and surgery), I'd trade this disease for cancer any day. The "C" word is no longer a death sentence, but it is a wake up call to make changes in your daily living habits. Clean food, adequate sleep, less sugar, exersize, etc.,
You are not alone on this journey. and will find warm support right here. Bless you Bev.
Thank you, Scrunch and swtb. That's why I used the word 'seldom'. I, too, watched the Bolingers' excellent programme. How did you fare with your melanomas, Scrunch? Many blessings to you both.
I had 3 monthly checks for 5 years. A couple of years ago I had another on my lip which was removed also. My mother passed away from metastatic melanoma when she was 28. I was just a 10 year old girl when she died. I felt as though history was repeating itself and I still worry that one day it will return.sorry to come across as negative but I worry all the time.
