Hello. My husband is English but I am Canadian. We are considering settling in the UK but my symptoms for SCA6 have become more pronounced lately. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of medical services are available to people with ataxia. In Canada, the monthly disability benefit is about $1500, but that would be if the disability takes away your ability to earn a living. Where I'm from we have bus services, some assisted living and various other social services for people with disabilities. I'm wondering what kind of assistance would I be able to access when it becomes difficult for me to work.
