Hi I've been experiencing more and more when I get up, stand up from sitting, extreme dizziness and lightheadedness which often leads to me falling down could be because I have got very low blood pressure or could be ataxia or a mix both. Just don't know

Hey Sam! I had the same problem before I was actually diagnosed with Aquired CA. I know I’ve had ataxia (I didn’t know what ataxia was but in retrospect, yep) since a case of bacterial meningitis almost killed me 8 years ago. It took 8 years to diagnose me...anyhow, I was at an appointment with my pcp and my BP was 84/50. I made the appt because I’d noticed that when I stood up I would feel like I was going to pass out. His recommendation was to drink more coffee and eat more salt! It worked! And I do love coffee and salt :-). I would not recommend this unless you are otherwise healthy except for the ataxia. It brought mine up to 107/60 and I no longer suffer from the issue.

I think it’s called orthostatic hypotension...or something like that.

Hope this is helpful!

Hang in there 😊. Marina

It could also be Vertigo. You need to check with a neurologist.

Always,

my blood pressure, as measured the other day, is the opposite, it high. I still get a bit light headed when standing up, and have to wait a few seconds, getting my balance, as I will fall over as I have done before, so now I hold onto something, like the window sill, and then I will go to say the kitchen
