A fellow Ataxian has had one of those nasty-----send $3000 to me or I will damage your computer email etc etc. These can be very worrying but first DONT answer it and better still don't open it if you don't recognize the name. Then change all your important pass words making them fairly long and use numbers as well as letters and include capital letters I am not a wiz-kid with computers so advise from anyone else would be most helpfull. Don't send any cash!
Good luck. Ted

🙂 Good advice. Earlier this year I had a PM on a closed Facebook group from a friend. The message seemed dubious, I contacted my friend by other means and found she had been hacked. Even though I didn’t respond to the PM, I did change passwords just in case. It was frustrating and time consuming, but you can’t be too careful 😏 xB
I was also scammed by the same scammer They claimed to have filmed me on my web cam, which I don't have!! I told them that the money was ready (they asked for payment in 'Bitcoins') and I would complete the transaction when I received their 'evidence'. I have not heard from them since but I have changed my password. ~ Bob
