Does anyone else just feel drunk all of the time?
Light headed 24/7: Does anyone else just feel... - Ataxia UK
Light headed 24/7
Hi. Anihol
Unfortunately many of us have this light headed feeling which makes us wall
(Or try to wall) like a drunkard. I do a lot of furniture walking in order to not fall
Over
The light headed feeling can get you down but try and move slowly as a sudden move can cause a fall
Very best wishes. Ted
Hi anihol😊
This is a sensation you'll become familiar with😏 It's not restricted to your particular type, it's quite common.

Dear Anihol, Although I'm always wobbly, some days I do feel more dizzy/drunk. I have no idea why this happens sometime and not all the time. This is a symptom of ataxia, just be careful you don't fall! ;o)
Yes I do too , giddy and stumbling but without the pleasant bit of drinking !!
My physiotherapists were concerned that a side effect of Baclofen would cause falls, which it has not.
Join the club. It's an awful feeling, especially when you go into a pub and the barman / barmaid says " No, you've had enough." When you haven't even started.
Yes I frequently feel like this. Dizzy, lightheaded and find concentration difficult.
Am in the process of trying different medication to hopefully get back to work. Anyone suggest anything that cleared their head
I get very giddy at work and have to occasionally leave early or have a quick snooze. The cold weather also affects me badly...
I've just been for a walk ( stagger) around the garden😏 It's a lot older than I thought it was. The extreme cold had an adverse effect on balance, and total awareness. I managed half an hour ( with the help of a walking pole) and then had to concede defeat🙄 Roll on summer😏xB
B do you work? Am trying so hard not togive up on my nursing career but after 20 years I feel I am defeated. Medication isn't working for me and i am sleeping 15 - 17 hours a day. How ridiculous is that.
