My daughter has been on xolair for nearly 4 years now and it has made a difference. Although she hasn't come off her pred and other meds her pred has been reduced and there has been less hospital admissions. Hope it works for you
Hi ....... It's a monoclonal antibody for people who have severe allergic astmha. I'm not 100% sure but I think it stops your own body producing antibodies that atack allergies !
Which in turn produces inflammation within the airways !!!
Thank u for that infotmation. I will ask my consultant about it. Patient education is so important. The more awareness and knowledge we have helos us to know what to ask doctors for. I had to ask for an allergy tablet since i wasnt on one. Thanks again
I've been on xolair for 18 months now and it has changed my life - only one visit to resuss for a few hours and not admitted, previous year admitted about six times for a week each time.
Now off of pred too but previous high doses finished off adrenal glands - so now have to take 32.5 mg of hydrocortisone daily
Good luck I hope that it works for you and when you get your pred reduced to 5mg ensure that you have a cortisone blood test
I got through last winter without a single visit to hosp.
Yes ....... Unfortunately with all drugs there is !!!!! I've been given two epi pens of adrenaline to jab myself if I have a fit or anathalactic shock . Go on the xolair web site it's full of all the information your looking for π
