Hydrocortisone and Adrenal Insufficiency

hi all

Since changing from prednisolone to hydrocortisone my asthma seems to have settled down. It is really weird! It is like a life change. I barely use my blue accuhaler any more. Once or twice a week. I still take symbicort 400/12 but i finally have controlled asthma.

i am really suffering with allergies at the moment my voice has vanished and i get a lovely temp by the end of the day. but i am so pleased that my asthma is controlled.

Sometimes doctors need to realise asthma can be uncontrolled becase we have an underlying condition that is making asthma worse. I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in january 2016 and since this has started to be treated my asthma has come under controlled.

Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting 👍

Hi Julie

I'm glad you are feeling better. I didn't know about hydrocortisone and asthma I will ask about it tomorrow when I go to the hospital.

Take care xx

i think the only down side of hydrocortisone is the weight gain.
