Spirometry incontinence?

Hi,  I had my second spirometry test on Friday. Ever since this I've been partially incontinent, which is quite upsetting. Is this usual?

It's probably coincidence because spirometry only involves breathing out, not consuming or inhaling anything. If it happens again though let them know as there might be some sort of explanation.

Thank you... I wondered if I'd strained something lol,  I did have to breathe out very forcefully and it's never happened before. (urine).

I guess that's possible. If it's that you can't hold it in rather than you  need to go more often then that might be what's happened. I'd see if it happens next time & if it does then maybe some pelvic floor exercises or similar might help?

Thanks,  I've been trying that all weekend. It's not that I can't wait,  more an occasional leak even when I don't have the urge to go.

Hi I agree that incontinence isn't linked to spirometry and it is just a coincidence.   I think it is common to have an odd leak as long as it isn't too much.   Also if you cough a lot it can make it worse.   If you think there is a problem then it is best to see your doctor as there are meds you can take to help stop it.  x
