I realise that there is a similar blog going on about this subject. I get the impression that PR applies to those with COPD. I have bronchiectasis, asthma, and very prone to chest infections. All this makes me breathless. I have the information about PR. Is it worth me applying for it?

You had us worried there annie,,,must be your meds..It costs nothing to ask,,have a word with your gp next time you see him or her.........
Dear Annie
I too have asthma and bronchiectasis and my GPS says that I am 'borderline COPD'. I have been referred for pulmonary rehab after having several exacerbations since 2009. I live in Cornwall.
Hope you get referred too.
Lesley
well annie 80, i asked myself the same question but know from experience not all COPD sufferers get a chance at pulmonary rehab. It is intended for most lung diseases to answer your thoughts, but what the criteria is to get on it seems very vague. I guess it also depends on what services are available in your area too.Good luck with getting a place on PR I'm still waiting to spite a consultants referral and there being many groups in my area for PR.
There are people on my current pulmonary rehab course with brochiectasis annie, so I would say that if you've been given the opportunity then GO for it ! If you've not been offered the opportunity yet, then ask why not ?
This is my second course of PR, my first one was over two yeas ago, and I gained so much benefit from it that I asked to be referred again I really enjoy it and will also sign up for the follow-up PALS classes which I understand consist of mainly exercise. The more exercise we do, the better we feel
Good luck and best wishes
and don't forget ....
keep on keeping on
Annie I have learned since I got sick that if you need something ask for it if the answer is no then ask again if it's still no well you haven't lost anything.
I'm sure you would be accepted Annie, go for it,you would probably enjoy it,& the company!
Not everyone. Had copd,when I did it.Good luck,Wendells xxx
