The peasants have no bread but will we see revolution, I think not they are known scroungers read everywhere we are told this. Have no sympathy for the poor it is their own fault have no sympathy for smokers it is their own fault give them stigma and who cares how they are treat. Certainly no revolution how many have interest in such as this.

hi carroll - it may not seem so in oldham but actually the govt's own figures show that over the whole of the UK only 5% of immigrants claim any form of benefit, the rest pay much more into the system than they take out, in the way of income tax etc

The same political party who are robbing the poor to pay the rich will stop immigrants they have pledged closing a loophole allowing immigrants the easy life our own poor have what a joke.

How embarrissing, I wonder how many will go hungry rather than present them to a shop.

Is this in the UK and not the Third World??

People are now learning what happens when they vote in a conservative government. Labour is far from perfect. But scroungers are very much in the minority. You all know what to do in May 2015. Use your vote to get them out and keep them out. As they are the party for the rich and do not care about you.

In France there was a Revolution when they starved the peasants and my belief is the English will not do the same, I wish to be proved mistaken with a government

forced into fair treatment.

Alright Jack from the British navy when sailors were known as Jacks, now sod them all only millionaires are alright Jack,

Quite simply this government could not do what they wanted to. And that is to cut benifits. so they did it by the back door. Lets face it. If you pay bedroom tax and a portion of council tax that you did not used to, then that is in effect a cut in your benifit. People on JSA are hardly well off. A couple only have just over a £100 a week to live on. Would love to see a member of parliament live on that. In effect, in some cases, claiments could be finding they will be 20% worse off. And for those that say they should get a job. The vast majority would love a job. But in many cases all that is available are part time low paid jobs. For those that say. The people paying for an extra bedroom should move. Most cannot. Try going to the housing association and asking for a one bedroom flat for instance. You will be told. We don't have any. This is in effect a cut in benifit. By the back door. Make your feeling known by writing to your MP. Or joing in one of the protests on March 30. These protests are being held in many towns and all major cities in the UK. Together you can make this bedroom tax Cameron's poll tax..

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with this in principle. What will happen though is that a trade in food stamps will develop, with people selling them for cash at less than their actual value so they can spend the cash on anything they please. The are always many unscrupulous sharks around to cash in on a system like this and it is no guarantee that families will get fed, rather than the money being spend on gambling, alcohol, etc. Unless the vouchers are somehow personalised with the details of the original recipient who then has to show proof that they are that person, I don't see how this can work. All of which will make genuine claimants feel even worse than they already do.

apparently won,t be stamps but a swipe card ,,that won,t let u buy alchol/ciggys at the till...but thats not the point,,the goverment say you can live on £70 a wk,,,over 2 million people are affected,,where does my daughter sleep when i need a care or the g/children,,its going to have a knock on effect,,foster cares are exempt, but what about the grans and grandds that look after there g.kids while there mums work,,do they then have to give up there jobs,,,no thought gone into this at all,,its immoral and illegal, and have told my mp as much,,

I agree with you entirely, but this thread is only about crisis loans. As for the rest of the benefit changes, it's unfortunate that to target the genuine scroungers they are affecting every single person in receipt of benefits and this is plain wrong. All these new changes affect me affect me too. I just don't understand how, when my benefits letter last year stated "the law says you need £(whatever it was) to live on, yet a year on I'm apparently able to live on around £20 less. As for the swipe cards, the very people they are supposed to be targeting, the cheats, will still be able to sell them for cash to feed their habits, not their families.

This whole country and the politicians really bother me. All these problems, and we are expecting all these Romanians and Bulgarians coming next year. More problems, different cultures on a small island. Hope I haven't drifted away from the thread of this blog.
