Sorry to hear you've not been feeling too good. Each illness we have, especially as we get older, takes its toll on our system and it becomes harder to spring back to where we were before the illness. We all think, once the antibiotics have done their work, that we will immediately return to 'normal' but - sadly - this is not the case. Our bodies need time to recover and after bronchitis, or an exacerbation of COPD, this can take up to three months or more in some cases.
Take things easy for a while longer, try home exercises that are 'gentle' and let your body tell you when it's ready for more
Give the BLF helpline a call, they will happily have a chat with you and send their info pack out. It's 03000 030 555 and they often have a nurse on hand who can take you through the basics.
Thank you Gordon57 Have phoned them and they are sending me a pack out.
Hi Towse I agree that it takes time to fully recover. Bronchitis is a nasty illness. Give yourself time and I am sure you will soon be back at the gym. Meanwhile take it easy and give your body a chance to recuperate.
