i have just found out i have enphysema of the upper lobes i have ra as well any advice welcome.

I was diagnosed with boullis emphysema in top right lung and top left lung, more in right than left, I had a CT scan which indicated this also I had a breathing test FEV1 of 79% diagnosed as very mild. Not on any medication.

Don't google into it as some sites will scare you, stick here and ask loads of questions, even call the BLF help line for advice.

What stage are you at? and if you smoke stop right now. Sounds like a spice girl song and yes I know I must change the Santa picture, Happy New Year.

ty david dont know what stage ra specialist said see doc for an inhaler and stop smoking.

Hello binlid, sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but the more you learn the better you will be able to take care of you.Your local surgery will put you on their list for 6 month or yearly check ups, if you have not already had a flu jab I think you need to phone up and get one as soon as poss.Take your medication, exercise as much as you can and try to eat a healthy diet.The BLF, have lots of friendly advisors only a phone call away, hope you call them,they will send you lots of info.Take care,all the best, Carol x

I was dignosed in October 2011. CT scnas showed mild but last tests showed 70% function. If you smoke you should try to stop. I am trying, just having a couple of puffs here and there, every other day or so, but each time it tastes nastier, so hoping I may quit altogether soon. I wish you well xxxxx
