Sad,maybe !?

THE PINK DRESS

There was this little girl sitting by herself in the park.

Everyone passed by her and never stopped to see why she looked so sad.

Dressed in a worn pink dress, barefoot and dirty, the girl just sat and watched the people go by....

She never tried to speak. She never said a word. Many people passed by her,but no one would stop.

The next day I decided to go back to the park in curiosity to see if the little girl would still be there.YES she was there, right in the very spot where she was yesterday, and still with the same sad look in her eyes.

Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the little girl. For as we all know ,a park full of strange people is not a place for young children to play alone.

As I got closer I could see the back of the little girl's dress. It was grotesquely shaped.I figured that was the reason people just passed by and made no effort to speak to her.

Deformaties are a low blow to our society and heaven forbid if you make a step toward assisting someone who is different.

As I got closer, the little girl lowered her eyes slightly to avoid my intent stare. As I approached her,I could see the shape of her back more clearly.

She was grotesquely shaped in a humped over form.I smiled to let her know it was OK; I was there to help, to talk.I sat down beside her and opened with a simple, ''Hello''.The little girl acted shocked, and stammered a ''Hi''; after a long stare into my eyes.

I smiled and she shyly smiled back.We talked until darkness fell and the park was completely empty.I asked the girl why she was so sad.The little girl looked at me with a sad face and said

''Because I'm different...'' I immediately said,''That you are !''; and smiled.

The little girl acted even sadder and said,''I know''.

''Little girl ''I said ,''You remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent.''

She looked at me and smiled, then slowly she got to her feet and said,''Really?'' 'Yes, you are like a little Guardin Angel sent to watch over all the people walking by.She nodded her head yes and smiled. With that she opened the back of her pink dress and allowed her Wings to spread, the she said ''I am.'' ''I'm your Guardian Angel,'' with a twinkle in her eye.I was speechless---sure I was seeing things.

She said,''For once you thought of someone other than yourself. My job here is done''....I got to my feet and said,''Wait ,why did no one stop to help an Angel?''She looked at me,smiled and said, ''You're the only one that could see me,''and then she was gone.

And with that my life was changed dramatically.

So,when you think you're all you have, remember, your Angel is always watching over you.

We all need someone.....and every one of your friends is an Angel in their own way.

The value of a friend is measured in the heart.

I hope you your Guardian Angel watches over you always.

This brought a tear to my eye as I have, over the past few months only been thinking about what my husbands illness is doing to me. My great-grandma, grandma, mother and sister (related) could all see things that were about to happen before they happened, they were great believers in the after-life. I have been told I have the gift but have chosen to ignore it, They say it proceeds along the female line of the family. My sister, just before she died, told me that she would come back and stroke my hair to let me know she was there and many a night I have been dropping off to sleep when my hair moved, as if a breeze had blown through it. I told her to stop messing about and if she could do that she could pick some winning lottery numbers for me. I was once stopped by a passer-by in a shop who told me not to be annoyed with her but she had to tell me that I was surrounded by an aura, all pinks, blues and purples, she said it was so bright, the funny thing is that these are my favourite colours and my birthstone is Amethyst.

Has anyone on this site, ever been sat in a room on their own when suddenly they get a smell of perfume or aftershave that they know for certain isn't the one you or your husband uses. It blows over the room then vanishes. I have also been sat with my granddaughter who is now 7 years of age and she looks up to the corner of our room and stares for quite a few seconds, then carry's on playing. I never ask her what she is looking at but I am definitely a believer in Guardian Angels but my husband says it is all a load of cobblers.

I have seen first hand, when was young, my sister told my mum that there was a lady all in white standing over her bed, she described our grandma who she did not remember as she was so young when she died. When I was 10 years old every night, my mum used to love to play her Student Prince record and there was always knocking on the room ceiling, we all heard it (my dad was working). My mother thought it was the next doors neighbour banging on the wall to tell us to lower it down, so she went to see her and say she was sorry if she was playing it too loud. The neighbour looked shocked and said the lady who lived here before us with her family had died and she always used to bang on the floor with her walking stick when the noise downstairs was too loud. When my dad died my mum moved house and the people who moved in were a young couple. My sister had a visit one day at her home from this young woman who had moved into our house and asked her if the house was haunted, my sister said why, and she told her that every night when she goes to bed, a man walks into the bedroom, walks to the window and vanishes, she described my father exactly. When she knew that the man meant her no harm she stopped worrying about it and after that nothing ever happened again.

My son took lots of photographs of my grandson (his son) and when he loaded them onto the computer the little boy was surrounded by orbs, hundreds of them. He showed me them and asked what they were, I told him they were his guardian angels. We never used to talk about such things when the boys were growing up as the gift only affected the girls in the family, my son looked shocked and said,do you know mum, I never liked my grandmas house, I used to hate going to the toilet as I felt there was someone watching me.

Some of you will think I am nuts but Kingofthcocktails little story reminded me of everything, so now when my hair is touched or I smell the perfume/aftershave I thank god I am being watched over by my loved ones and I know you are also. When you or someone you love as a terrible illness you need to believe there is something out there that will give you strength to carry on and Kingofthecocktails story has done that for me and made me think how lucky I am for still being alive and as healthy as I can be for a woman of 70 and still have my husband, even though he is a miserable old git.

Have a lovely and healthy New Year.xxxx

Hi "Sweetthing " - lovely reading about your encounters with experiences behond this life, I too believe in an After Life as a Christian, the only thing I have difficulty with regarding "Guardian Angels" is - where are they when, somone is brutely attacked , as we have heard recently on the news - that elderly man going to Mass to play the organ - where was his "Angel " - when he most needed him/her ? - would very much appreciate your views on this diffcult question - lots thanks - a Happy, safe and healthy new Year to you - Vittorio.

Yes Vittorio where are all the guardian angels when the tradgedy's of the world strike, there are two sides to every story, sadly.

I agree with you, where are the Guardian Angels when children are being abused, the young woman in India being raped and tortured, cities being bombed, but I can only speak from my own experience of the things that have happened to me. What I am going through with my husband at the moment is driving me to distraction, and I honestly am dreading 2013 and I really do need a guardian angel. We had a mischievous spirit in our house when we were young, it was always hiding things, my mum would put something down, not move from where she was standing, go to pick it up and it was gone, she found it in a different room. She called the spirit Topsy. Many a time I had been in the bathroom, cleaning my teeth, I put the toothpaste on the bathroom shelf and when I had finished went to put the cap back on and it had vanished. I just said, for gods sake Topsy, then had to go looking for it, I found it in the bedroom. It happened, to combs, makeup, glasses, we grew up with it so it was not frightening.

I know a lot of people are non-believers and I understand why, but when it happens to you time and time again there is no way you can ignore it. I asked my daughter-in-law the other week if my young granddaughter ever mentioned seeing anything, she said why, and looked nervous, I had never, ever mentioned anything to them before about the things that used to happen, and she said yes she keeps telling me about the lady that comes to see her before she goes to bed. I asked her if she had told her what she looked like, and my daughter-in-law said, she frightened me that much I dare not ask her. My sisters daughter goes to answer the 'phone before it rings as she says she knows it will ring, she goes to the door before anyone knocks knowing there is someone there. I should really be telling all this on Halloween.

Back to the matter of our COPD and other sufferers with breathing problems, I just thought I would give you all a light hearted break from the terrible daily life of oxygen, nebulisers, hospitals and antibiotics.

Wishing you all a VERY happy New Year and I really do hope you all have a Guardian Angel looking out for you.

Love and best wishes.xxxxxxxxxx

Caught the tissue and used it.The smile is rather more tricky.I can smile and laugh at amusing DVDs but on a day to day rating a smile is hard to come by in the genuine sense.I can put one on my face but the depth and warmth is not there.Life goes on though.I admit to enjoying your little ditties though
