Good Afternoon Everybody.
Christmas is now fast approaching and the weather is becoming colder with alot of places on amber alert for severe cold.
I don't wish to teach any of you to suck eggs but here are a few pre christmas reminders.
1, Ensure you have enough medication to see you over he christmas/new year period.
2, If you are issued with rescue antibiotics/steroids again make sure you have enough.
3, During christmas and new year can mean more socialising - remember most colds and viruses are spread through hand contact - try to keep your distance from people who are unwell and keep a bottle of alcohol hand gel nearby.
4, Always put used tissues in a bin straightaway.
5, Ensure you have enough essentials to keep you going if you are too unwell to go out or the weather is too bad. Try UHT milk which dosen't have to be refrigerated unless opened, tinned soups and stocking your freezer. We all seem to buy lots of luxury type food items for christmas, but when i'm not well only chicken soup will do!
6, To avoid frozen pipes bursting try to keep the central heating on even at a low temperature.
7, Keep your pathway/driveway free of leaves and moss to avoid slips and falls and consider gritting and/or salting to keep it ice free.
8, Very importantly keep warm - thin layers of clothes keep the heat in more than just a couple of thick clothes items.
9, Keep emergency numbers (ie) plumber, electrician, NHS Direct handy.
10, Have a relaxing and enjoyable christmas and new year.
Best Wishes
Jo
