You can borrow mine when I've finished doing my lungs. :)

I predict exacerbations coming on. Enjoy yourself this weekend.

Over the following weeks, scar tissue forms which shrinks the tissue — in the same way that a scar pulls the skin around a wound tight. This reduces the volume of the lungs, making breathing easier.

Oh really? 19 years ago I had pneumonia, which left scar tissue, reducing the volume of my lungs, but that's not made breathing any easier at all.

This 'research' is by U.S. based Uptake Medical - they just happen to be the manufacturer of InterVapor - the very system being promoted in that article.

Dame Helena Shovelton, chief executive of the British Lung Foundation, added: ‘Using steam is a developing area, but there is insufficient evidence about the benefits at the moment. We look forward to seeing more clinical trial results.’

Hi roger,

i couldn't help making a joke out of this, but if you do go down B&Q to get a steam

After reading the article it seems a bit drastic, I just thought it would be like having a hot bath or shower, the vapour always help to shift some of the muck off my chest, as to the e-ciggies it is the only thing that has managed to help me to give up the tobacco, patches, gum the little white plastic things none of them where any good in weaning me off the weed, the e-ciggies have helped me to go for 6 months without a tobacco hit..!
