FEELING UNWELL
sounds like a dose of flu baxter, or some other nasty virus, poor you - I think you should let your gp know in case he/she wants to put you on some prophylactic antibiotics to protect your lungs
obviously stay in bed, keep taking the paracetamol regularly and drink plenty
thanks for reply i only finished steriods ,antibotics last week thought i would be ok for awhile
Sounds like flu to me, phone your doc's surgery and ask for telephone appoint with doc for further advice, don't forget to mention you have a lung condition to the doc / receptionist.
If its flu you need to stay in bed, drink plenty of water and take the paracetamol as recommended on the box. Try to have a piece of dry cracker before you take the paracetamol so its easier on the stomache.
You need advice from your doc about taking antibiotics if your breathing becomes impaired or your lungs become infected again.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Hi baxter
I agree with fairyfootsteps it does sound like you have a viral infection. You need to speak to your GP and keep him informed of how you feel. If it is a virus antibiotics will not help, keep taking paracetamol to reduce fever , but no more than 8 in a 24 hour period . Make sure you keep well hydrated. Hope you feel beter soon.
there has been a really bad virus going around - its a sort of cold/flu and you seem to be showing all the symptoms - but be careful because the last thing to come is a very bad cough ( my daughter in law did not sleep for 3 days). i stayed well away when they had it - but it lasted for about 4 days.
hope you feel better soon xxx
take care
sorry - forgot to say i am near London and she had it 3 weeks ago and we all know how quickly a virus spreads .
thanks to you all appricate all your replys scared me abit had flu before and it was nothing like this feels like i been beat up from the inside
Well they do say that when you truly have flu you know all about it. Heard the doc on tv this morning say if you see a £10 on the ground when you have flu you can't be bothered to pick it up but if it's just a cold then you pick the money up! I have only really had bad flu about twice in my life and I hope I don't experience it again. I just couldn't get out of bed, the pain in my head was excruciating and my body was in agony.
Get well soon Baxter1
Yeah me too Mo - last time I had it was nearly 40yrs ago and I still haven't forgotten how awful it was. Felt like I'd been run over by a truck, couldn't get to the loo without help, spent 2 weeks in bed and another week recuperating.
That's why I always have a flu jab, I never miss it

well it must be flu wife just woke me been to town shoppin with my card said she woke an told me an i ok
Sorry you are feeling poorly Baxter. Feel you probably ought to see your gp, especially as you have just come off abs. Whilst it is true abs will not treat a virus, I, and some other bronchs I know always get a secondary infection needing abs following a virus. Best to get docs advice. Hope you feel better soon.
