hi annie, I bought a salitair saltpipe after reading about the benefits of salt for us with lung probs but find it a waste of time for me, just not enough salt air getting into me.

It's a better result for me to use saline in nebuliser.

the nebulised salt helps me loosen secretions deep in lung, clears sinus too, I've become a salt-nut... even thinking of lining my walls in salt somehow !.. spray it on or stick slices of rock salt on wall to make my room like a salt mine !!.... don't worry, they will prob shut the door and lock me in... or take me away..

I am wondering if there has to be a correct type of breathing when using the saltpipe, and to use if over a period of time might help?

you must breath in through mouthpiece, then out through nose and could do control breathing excersize. breathing in through mouthpiece made my mouth dry after 30mins but had sips water. I used it 3-4 times a day for a month and it didn't help me, it might work for you though.

hope this helps

Thanks, zube. I will give it a whirl - what doesn't work for might work for another.

this may help, I tried one not really sure about them.
