So my question is , now that they have said I need support at my place of work, can I use this info to gain DLA or do I have to unemployerable, you see at the moment I am A very lucky boy as I have be diagnosed with slightly mild copd.
so i was given a interview, by my emp... - Lung Conditions C...
so i was given a interview, by my employers Occupational health people & to my amazement they argeed with my Doctors findings.
Thank you pooh, I am new to this, only found out January this year that I have copd.
Trying to point the finger as to who is to blaim! but when reality sets in for every one finger you point out three of your own point back. Still nobody said anything about copd just cancer, so why don't the government health minstry warn the nation about copd?
Glad they are going to support you at work. I am still working (just!) and have had DLA for a few years. Good luck.
Well i have not had a talk with HR at work yet, knowing how slow things go .... any way I know my managers will pop a few blood vessels.
Nice to meet you redmod. I agree that you can claim DLA whether you are working or not. Its a stand alone benefit.
Good luck with that.

Hi hypercat nice meet you too, sorry for the long reply other things got in the way, guess we've all been there.
Thanks for your in put, I shall try to make that claim, do you know if there is a support group in case I get in a muddle with the paper work?
Adrian.
Hi Adrian, yes, dont even try the paperwork yourself, make an appointment with welfare rights and get them to do it for you. They know all the correct words and ways of filling it in. Just take as much info as you can, like any test results and lists of medication.Tell your story how it is on the worst day. If you dont get DLA, welfare rights will follow up an appeal for you. Iam saying this because I tried on my own 3 times and failed, then welfare rights did it for me and I got it.Mind you I was bordering on severe by then, but I wasted 2 years by doing it myself. Hope this helps.
thanks ingy , i guess withself being only slightly mild asking for DLA at stage might be seen as a bit cheeky, but if you don't ask you don't get.
If you were bordering on severe then how are you now?
redmod
Hi Adrian I agree dont try this at home!
The CAB can help too or you can contact the DLA helpline - don't know number but should be in the phone book.
Good luck

Hi Bev, i will find the phone numbers and give them a call, may be your right about trying at home a lot of things go wrong when you do that, as they say find an adult.
Take care
Adrian.
