I have moderate copd. I use ecigs since i quit smoking.does anyone know if using ecigs are bad for you if you have copd.
What are they?them pretend cigs?

I use them in an effort to dramatically reduce the number of cigarettes I've been smoking and think they are quite effective. I can't see anything detrimental about them, except of course that one is still addicted to the nicotine, but at least there's no nasty tar or other chemicals going into your lungs.
The last time I was in hospital (February) I questioned the respiratory consultant on the use of the ecig and he said ANYTHING that cuts down/helps me stop smoking can only be a GOOD thing.

I used them briefly at one time. I heard that one exploded when it was being used, but this might not be true. You know how these stories go around.
The only other thing I have read in a reliable source was that as they are mostly made in China, they haven't been through the rigorous sort of testing that we would have here. Having said that, I am with your consultant, they have got to be better than smoking.

I used them to help me stop smoking and they were good. However I thought that it wasn't good for the hand to mouth habit so I went on the patches and they really did it for me. I have been an x smoker for about 16 months now.
