Oxygen assessment.

Many thanks for the interest shown by many regarding my oxygen assessment at my local hospital. I had this yesterday and am now being prescribed 4litres flow of oxygen for exercise, walking, and the first ten minutes of rising in the morning. I have written about my experience on my own copd blog. This can be seen at bitz-and-bobz.co.uk/copd/20...

I hope you find this interesting.

Derek

I will watch your blog with interest. I am due for an oxygen assessment in about 4 weeks. My sat levels follow yours to the letter.Maybe I'm odd but I am looking forward to the test as I am well aware of the strain put on my organs, especially my heart as I have already had heart problems. I have to change the lower ball joint on my car today, so that should prove interesting ! :)

I'm so glad you've gone for the o2 treatment. It was different for me in that I was suddenly bad with pneumonia and on o2 at home right away whereas I hadn't expected to be offered it for some years. I find your blog very helpful and will be reading how you get on now.

I realise now I need to be kinder to myself and not be stingy the o2 as I was doing.

All the best!

Derek I read every part of your site and found it to be excellent with very good advice, it could have been written by a Professional.

It's reading from other peoples experience that us, nearly diagnosed begin to recognise what COPD is all about, I didn't have a clue 6 weeks ago, but because of this site and people like you I'm gradually making my adjustments and coming to terms with it all.

Thanks...xx

I read your blog too Derek and find it very interesting, I'm also on oxygen 3 ltm never been told to alter it but after reading several blogs on this site I now put it up to 4 when exercising. Hope life is that little bit easier for you now you have oxygen.
