My wife has just been diagnosed with background COPD, some lung scarring, and 'Granular deposits' in right lung. Doc says it's nothing to worry about. Is this correct? Can anyone give me any more info on this please?

Get another Docs opinion if you have any doubts that what you are getting is not the whole story another pair of eyes looking it over can only clear this doubt from both your minds.
Hi Harley883
Welcome to the forum.
Can you give us a call on the helpline? 03000 030 555 and we can try to give you further information on this.
If you have any more information on your wife's condition, such as letters from the consultant our nurse will try to help you.
Best Wishes

Hi Harley883
Not so keen on the GP being the only one to take care of your wife's health needs. She (or you) will have to insist that the doctor refers her to a respiratory specialist at the local hospital or at a specialist hospital. Don't take no for an answer! The hospital will have the facility to do the tests that she needs. The specialist will have much more knowledge than the GP as to what treatment she needs.
Please don't worry about your wife, with regular visits to a good specialist she should be able to carry on with her life. How do I know, well I have Interstitial Lung Disease, scarring on the lungs, and that could have been me you were describing 4 years ago.
Good luck.
Regards
Mandy
What BugsBunny says. Your wife should be asked to be referred to a consultant at your local hospital, infact my GP just saw my x-ray and rubbish peak flow and referred me straight to the consultant...
Good luck, and try not to worry. I too have scarring and granulomas in both lungs and manage ok.

If the diagnosis is from a CT scan you best ask your doc for a referral to a respiratory consultant.
As Jo Newton of BLF has suggested I would give the helpline a call for further guidance on this situation.
All good wishes.
