Hi Susie,I am speaking as a carer, my husband has emphysema and ipf, and he sleeps so much I call him rip van winkle, certainly one of the symptoms of copd is chronic fatigue because your body has to work harder to help you breathe. I'm sure the others on here who are sufferers can advise you better.
Hello susie2 and welcome to the BLF
Have you mentioned this to your doctor yet ? It might be a good idea. Your CO2 levels might be high and this could be the cause of your fatigue. Of course, with lung problems and difficulty getting our breath this makes a big difference to our energy levels. Other members have mentioned their chronic fatigue too, but I must be lucky because it's not a problem for me now I have my oxygen at home.
I hope you enjoy your time here with us and if you're ever feeling low, just give a shout and someone will be along with a cheery word or two )
Having a doctors answer for this question to be safe if you have any other illness is a safe way to proceed it is an easy path to say all questions are answered by your Emphysema diagnosis. Relate this matter to your doctor they are not able to test for how tired you are feeling this must come from you with how it is making your life. Do not be quiet until you have the answer that satisfies you all has been checked correctly.
lovely days are so precious - and recharge our spirit if not our body, eh ?
Thank you. Hope you are having a reasonable day today. Susie
