Kristine - if memory serves me correctly we had a dialogue on this on the old BLF community forum but of course it has all disappeared now unless Mark can magically retrieve it!! In that I believe it had been prescribed to someone who was leaving the country, but perhaps you could ask your doc/? whoever prescribed it, if you could try something else as it is appaently not universally available on NHS

Give it a try - interesting to see your results!

Hi,

I was offered Roflumilast (Daxas) as i have severe Copd, i did feel that it helped a little, but not a massive difference, and you have to take it for weeks to notice a change, probably just less exacerbations.I have since stopped taking it as i am now on a trial drug.

My consultant recommended I try this but it had to be prescribed by my GP it was not under any trial. I have severe brittle asthma spent 2 months on it but it made no difference at all. Now stopped taking it.

thnxs every1 for the answers , really thinkin of giving it a go, i,am on loads of meds, but you never no it could work for me, :)

From what I have heard it is last chance saloon when nothing else works because no one knows what is like when mixed with other treatments so hope it does not come to being a guinea pig

HI folks

I am in the states and have tried Daxas (known here as Daliresp). Some people on our forums have reported good results and others (including myself) had to stop due to side effects (diarrhea, headaches, rapid heart rate etc).

I have provided links to our forums (I am one of the co-founders) where the discussions are located. stemcellpioneers.com/showth...

and copdliving.com/index.php?sh... By the way, my real name is Jeannine and I live in the USA I hope this information helps.

I started taking Daxas about a year and a half ago. I switched to Daliresp when it became available in the U.S. I had a hard time at first due to the side effects, but they went away as suddenly as they came on about a month after I started taking it. It has truly made a huge difference in my life. I have not been sick one day in the entire 18 month period. The side effects were manageable, although very unpleasant. I used to get bronchitis and colds quite frequently. I had a lot of mucus too. I can't say enough good things about it. I don't think anyone can know in advance if it will or will not cause side effects or benefit them. It's something you need to discuss with your doctor and then try it if given the green light.
