What a stunner! I had to look him up. Is he a fallow deer? I read you have 5 species of deer in the New Forest. What a magnificent place you live in!
Reply (1)Report
Thankyou I think he's a Fallow or he could be a Sika they are both a ginger brown colour with white spots ... There's certainly a variety of them I get the muntjacs trying to get in my garden but my fence stops them ...and where I live in the woods behind me there is a herd of around 80 ... π
Reply (1)Report
Wow, that's a lot of venison! We have a herd of around 15 white tail deer and usually don't have a problem but the other morning I woke up to find my impatients, hostas and geraniums all beheaded! I had a pentas in a pot on the porch and it was pulled out of its pot and is on the missing list. No idea where that one went!π
Reply (1)Report
where do you live then ? All i get is lsquirrelsl and are greys , not red squirrels.
Reply (0)Report
I'm in the US, in Florida, central part near Ocala, dubbed 'The Horse Capital of the World'. Lots of woods, lots of horse farms, lots of alligators in the rivers and Springs! We have tons of squirrels too, greys and fox squirrels, no reds, because we have tons of oak trees!
