Facebook page for Gloucestershire

Hello everyone.

Given the current state of NHS health care, pressure on Respiratory staff and GP practices I thought it might be helpful to start a local Facebook page for the county of Gloucestershire. Where I hope we can support each other locally perhaps leading to restarting Breathe Easy groups. We don’t have any at the moment - they disappeared during the pandemic and haven’t restarted.

The Facebook page is called Gloucestershire Respiratory Patient Support Network. It is a bit of a mouthful but does what it says on the tin.

If you live in Gloucestershire and fancy joining this private group then do pop in a request on the page.

Go well,

Pauline

Sorry I'm not in your county. Will watch for updates with interest, as Covid did for a lot of Breathe Easy groups in Cheshire too.

Oh well done Pauline, thanks so much 🙏. I'll be joining for sure.

I belong to the private FB Gloucestershire ME/CFS friendship and support group and it's marvellous with everyone kind and supportive with varying levels of ME or CFS (even a GP with ME). Those who can meet at a disability friendly pub nearby every month plus other venues in Gloucestershire

Actually I have thought more about this. Maybe you would like to suggest that if we want a better NHS we need to pay for it. A campaign to extract some of the vast profits stolen from us by the corporate thieves who hold over 90% of all the wealth in Britain might be a better idea?

Sorry not in your area. But a great idea. Sad all these Breatheasy Groups are falling away. There used to be so many and easy to get too. xx

Great news Pauline. I am looking for such a group having relocated to Scotland. Im on coast west of glasgow. I will need to start a group here if I can’t find anything. Healscotland is a great general online group just to let everyone know.

Thank you... let us know if you manage to start a group where you are. I am sure Asthma Lung UK will offer you support if you need it ?

I love where you live now.. Sadly travelling is very difficult now so only have the memories which are almost as good as the real thing.

Go well,

Pauline
