So after a swim a long slow mooch in the woods himself goes off on a mission cause he knows when he hits that gate he's not far from home and a full tummy ...
his paws move quicker nearly at running speed which dosent happen very often unless he's chasing birds or he just wants to ππ

Itβs lovely to read about Stan and his adventures, and his photograph brings him to life. What breed of dog is he?
He's a 14 year old cocker spaniel who I was given about 2 years ago now .. he wasn't in a very good place back then had been bitten by the other family dog ... He was very withdrawn and sad to begin with but now he's the devil himself full of mischief... goes to the groomer every 4 weeks... swims and walks with me in a group daily basically he's our best friend his confidence has grown so much and the love he offers is infinite and beyond and full of character ππ€ his old owner used to clip his coat and claws with scissors and only walk him 15 mins every other day ... not the best place at all my heart aches for him some days at what he went through
We have 2 schnoodles (schnauzer/poodle cross) and I love them to bits. One of them is full of mischief but he does make me laugh, and the other very laid back until it comes to food, when heβll run round and round the coffee table until one of us sorts his meal out!
Aww they sound lovley I'm a dog walker and pet sitter for a living and I absolutely adore it even in the winter π
I donβt take ours a walk very often because my mobility is limited, but my husband takes them for several walks a day and they love it!
That's good to hear I don't know how many more years I can keep going with dog walking but for now it's great stuff ... as long as your doggos are happy it dosent matter you don't walk them bet you give them lots of cuddles π
I do give them lots of cuddles and I go in the garden and play with them.

They really do, but theyβre quite good at playing together, and Freddie, the mischievous one, loves to play with a couple of squishy eggs with eyelashes that we have.
That image evokes many memories and a smile! My old boy, Charlie, was the same, sprint for the end, I had to have him on lead by a certain point or he would go ahead and cross the road. Even at 14 you could see the pace pick up, nose forward, a steady, yet wobbly, rhythm to his stride, it was either homeward bound or a picnic that needed destroying. Heaven forbid anyone else dared try to take him for a walk, not a chance, as soon as he was off lead he would turn around for home. X
He sounded like a right character dogs and their little ways adorable each and every one of them ... Stan will conserve his energy when he wants to the minute you mention the word walkies he's up and gone ... I'm lucky in a sense that I only lead him up when we approach roads the rest of the time we walk in the forest or woods and it must be by a river for them all to swim π
Ha! ha! ha! ha! This was my reaction when I saw your picture of Stan, he cheers me up no end when I see him and had to giggle when you say his walk quickens when he gets near the gate x
He makes me laugh daily with his antics I'm sure he knows he's the best thing since sliced bread π

In today's local paper there was a feature about 2 elderly spaniels needing a new home. They looked so Stannish i was tempted to go and grab them. Silly really. I couldn't look after 2 lively dogs. It's the Stan effect. I hope they will soon find a lovely home.xxx
