I am currently on liquid type due to a swallowing issue . My bottle states "adult" where last month did not. Does anyone know if there is an adult and non adult version please ? As this is not usually on my box and I am wondering about ingredients due to allergies. Thank you

I'm afraid I've no idea Dottie, I knew there was syrup for children but not that there's a liquid carbo for adults. You may find more info on the leaflet of from manufacturer website.I know some adult nembers take soluble NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) to do tge same job as carbo.

Ask your pharmacist; they should know. Perhaps it's just to ensure nobody shovels it down their infant's throat.

Thank you to all who replied. I have been told there is a higher alcohol content in the adult form and therefore not suitable for certain people including children.

How are you finding the liquid form? My physio suggested switching to that from the capsules but I’ve been reluctant to.

I find it much better. I have absorption issues , and poor muscle function in my throat etc. I was choking and in the past I have suffered with my lungs from food going down the wrong way. My Broch /sputum is better controlled on liquid and have been able to reduce how much I take daily. Worth a try I would say. Good luck.

Hi Dottie11, I've been moved onto Acetyl-Cysteine now but was on Carbo Cysteine before.

I understand there are different liquids, one for adults that contain alcohol, and one for children that doesn't. Iv'e found the Acetyl-Cysteine easy to take as it's an effervescent tablet that dissolves easily in water and it's a once a day dose.. Hope this helps.

Hello , I have never taken the liquid form although have often considered it as the capsules are very hard to swallow I find. Sorry I can't help you with this.
