A nice pretty picture. I took it some years ago when I was healthier. Now I prefer to look at snow through my windows. This year we haven't had any snow, but I felt for those of you in more Artic areas xxx

St Mary's in the snow
lovely picture, stay warm xx
That's a lovely picture but I don’t blame you for staying in the warm. We don’t have snow thank goodness. Take care xxx❤️
Lovely photo. I have enjoyed the sun and blue skies but raining now and i have a leak somewhere of dear
That's a rather beautiful church Chris, in Essex? Great sky too ××
It's Bocking in Essex. The roof gets in books on medieval carpentry as it's considered very fine. I've never thought of lying on the floor and trying to photograph the roof.🙃🙃🙃 xxx
I could lie on the floor and take the photo alright, I’d just need a bunch of sturdy medieval carpenter types to help me get up again😂😂
The church people might be a bit surprised. This church is very high, so it usually smells of incense, sometimes strongly enough to give me an asthma attack. I'd need some paramedics to haul me up again.😂😂😂🤪 xxx
Thinking of church ceilings, have you ever seen St Mary the Virgin, Huntingfield, South Suffolk? I haven't but long to, perhaps one day.....it's 11th century so exciting enough but has amazing hand painted ceilings by a Victorian lady, done over many many years , laying on her back atop wooden scaffolding year round without any heating. Hope you're well as can be ×××× P
I'd like to see this church. I would guess it is in north Suffolk, rather out of my motoring range these days. I did get up there once last summer, so perhaps this summer I might have a go. I'm still recovering from covid- one good day, then one exhausted day. Thanks for asking.
West of Southwold. I'll make it one day after (when) I've moved to Ely.
I've just heard on news that another storm is due tomorrow 😳
Storm Jocelyn is due tomorrow. The wind is still over 50mph here and it’s getting windier again as the storm approaches. Apparently the shipping forecast was talking about force 11 wind. ☹️
Crikey HH, I do feel for you folks in the far north. Hope the sheep are coping. I've sailed in a Baltic force 10, not fun at all (a bit terrifying in fact, massive waves)
beautiful pic. The colour of that sky! Uplifting, thank you x
Beautiful, we’ve had snow and storms, I’ve only been out to attend hospital appointments. Roll on spring.
Take care
Wendy xx
That’s a very fine looking church, Alberta. Taken on a lovely crisp winter’s day too, by the look of it. Thank you for sharing x
We seem to be missing the worst of the weather here in Essex, but I feel for those of you suffering snow, storms and wind, particularly people who have lost their electricity. I hope there is help available for people who need their machines to keep running. xxx
Lovely photo Alberta. Like Numptybrain I havent been out much except for hospital appointments. Here in Manchester I think we have had it all, snow, storms, rain. I thought the wind was going to take my roof off last night and so glad it is calmer this morning x
Beautiful picture. We've (luckily) missed the snow here in the Midlands but did have a bit of frost and fog in December. Since then, it's just been wet!
Talking of triggers, I grew out of my childhood asthma but still get short of breath over some things (horsehair sofas or mattresses, for one). On holiday over Xmas we were staying at a villa that had those reed diffusers in every room. All 7 pots ended up outside in the courtyard
Been out for my first long walk of the year (well it's long for me - just over 2 miles, very slowly as I had my first cold for 3 years after Christmas and just beginning to feel something like better. Wrapped up like Nanook of the North, and took the camera for a walk too - snowdrops are just starting to appear in the church yard so spring will eventually be on its way!
Hope your cold will soon go away. I haven't walked 2 miles for ages, so I'm a bit envious. Did you photograph the snowdrops? or are you waiting till they are fully out? xxx
I'm lucky - my lung condition is sorted and I've been discharged from thoracic, but I do need to walk to increase lung capacity. I found over Xmas in Spain I was able to walk further (and there were a LOT of steep hills) but since returning I've lost that advantage, unfortunately. I was puffing well on the sloping hills today!
Yes, I have taken a couple of the snowdrops today - one was a close up and a bit dirty after the storm yesterday, and the other was a small patch in front of a grave.
Definitely a nice picture
beautiful photo 🥶😁
Thank you. xxx
